During the renovation of an old barn, we cleaned the wooden frame by means of air blasting. It involved the upright on the stone footing, the round beams, and the rafters of the roof structure. Over the years, the wood had turned dark and grey. The renovation was the moment to make the timber frame clean and light again.
The difference is clearly visible in the photos: the dark post contrasting with the light, clean wood after the treatment. The natural wood grain is visible again and the frame looks like new. Also with the Steenbergerhoeve in Zuidwolde we restored the original appearance of the wooden beams.
