When is your chimney due for renovation?
Your chimney rises above the roof and catches everything: driving rain, hail, frost, and UV radiation. Due to this constant load, the masonry deteriorates faster than the rest of the facade. Mortar joints crumble, bricks become porous, and the lead flashing around the base comes loose.
Chimney leaks are a common problem. It often starts unnoticed: a small damp spot on the ceiling, a dark rim along the roof edge. But by the time you notice it indoors, the damage outside is already significant.
Frost damage accelerates the process. Water that freezes in the joints during the winter expands and pushes the masonry further apart. Postponing maintenance on your chimney only makes the repair bigger.
How do we renovate your chimney?
Roof cleaning is skilled work. Not only because of the technique, but above all because of safety. We always work with fall protection and according to our VCA standards. You never have to go onto the roof yourself.
Inspection from the roof
We inspect the chimney at height: the condition of the masonry, the joints, the leadwork, and the chimney cap, if applicable. Often, the damage is not visible from below.

Repair pointing and masonry
We chisel out weathered joints and re-point them. We repair or replace damaged masonry where necessary. In the event of severe damage, it may be necessary to rebuild part of the chimney.

Replace leadwork
The lead flashing around the chimney base ensures a watertight connection with the roof. We completely replace aged or cracked lead. New lead flashing is carefully installed so that rainwater can no longer enter.

Aftercare
After the repair, we recommend impregnating the chimney. This protects the new pointing against moisture and extends the lifespan of the renovation.
