Why graffiti doesn't just come off a wall
Spray paint dries quickly and adheres well. On a smooth surface, the paint stays on the surface, but brick and mortar are porous. There, the paint soaks into the stone, and the longer the graffiti remains, the deeper it gets.
Anyone who then starts scrubbing or goes to work with a pressure washer at full power often makes it worse. The surface of the stone is damaged, the grout washes out, and the paint does not disappear but fades into a light shadow.
Every surface requires a unique approach. Hard brick can withstand more than soft handmade brick. Concrete is strong but absorbs paint deeply. Natural stone is sensitive to acidic agents and can discolour. Therefore, we first assess the type of wall and the type of paint currently on it.
